Dave “Slo-Beat” Evans

Taking up drumming at the age of 12, Dave “Slo-Beat” Evans has been playing drums and honing his craft for nearly 22 years. During that time, he has collaborated with a number of musicians and projects in a variety of genres.

Formerly, Dave was the founding drummer for longtime blues/funk/rock group Electric Blues Euphoria. He has also toured Canada with the radio-played hard rock group Fear Zero, and performed regularly around Vancouver with The FP Band, a professional cover band.

Dave’s playing style is an eclectic mix of rock, funk, fusion, odd-time, groove and chops, backed by a musical rhythmic sense designed to complement the song at hand.

As the founding drummer for Set Phasers To Prog!, Dave takes his technical and energetic drumming to new heights, challenging both himself and the music through complex odd-time signatures, polyrhythms, intricate beats and tasteful double-kick footwork.
