GUITAR

Tim "Whitensake" Warwick, guitarist for instrumental prog rock band Set Phasers To Prog!

Tim “Whitesnake” Warwick

Tim has been playing music for most of his life, teaching himself guitar and drums at an early age. As primary musical writer for former hard rock group Rattle Cloud, he became more and more interested in progressive music.

Growing up, prog giants such as Dream Theater, Rush, Opeth, and Symphony X were major influences, introducing Tim to odd-time signatures, face-melting solos, and a unique musicality that quenched his artistic thirst.

During his university years, Tim challenged himself by playing through various albums on guitar and then repeating the process on drums. This process helped him further his own musical and technical abilities on both instruments in a prog-rock style.

Since then, Tim has been a hired gun for both his drumming and strumming in several hard rock projects including Prairie Grass Disaster, Drop Trow, and Dartos.

His current influences are diverse, ranging from djent metal to jazz, and most things in between. Wielding his trusty battle axe (a PRS Custom 24), Tim’s smooth guitar leads and syncopated shredding rhythms are yet another aspect of the dynamic sound that is Set Phasers To Prog!.
